No team won more championships in the 1980s than the L.A. Lakers, who took home five trophies. Coach Pat Riley guided a "Showtime" offense featuring Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Byron Scott and James Worthy to a bonanza of wins. In fact, throughout the 1980s, the Lakers never won less than 54 games in any season. As well, the team was ousted in the first round of the playoffs just once (1981) and appeared in eight of the decade's 10 Finals, too. Simply put, the Lakers dominated the headlines and the court throughout the decade.
